We read 971 written Amazon reviews across 12 products — including the critical ones most roundups leave out. Most buyer's guides quote the five-star reviews and stop. That hides the thing you actually need to know: what goes wrong, and whether it would bother you. So we pulled the negative reviews on purpose, and paired them with the praise.

“I bought this 6 weeks ago, and everything was promising. Quick blending, good mixing, very versatile. Then, I noticed a smell. I thought it was the cup or lid at first, maybe not being washed properly in the dishwasher? It was a weird smell, sour and odd. Washed all cups and lids, tried again. Determined the smell was in the liquid! Examined the blade topper. Smell matched. Googled it, as you do. Suggestions said it was the seal, so I used a pair of needle nosed tweezers to pull out the silicone seal from the blade topper. Gross brown liquid emerged with the silicone! Ugh!”

“The knife holder works well. The magnet is strong and it holds many knives. The only challenge I anticipate is that the silver one really collects a lot of finger prints. You'll probably need to hold on to the block to pull off the largest of your knives in order not to pull down the whole thing (the magnet is really pretty strong) and in doing so, you'll leave some finger prints. They come off with a damp rag and a little pressure. I'd probably not opt for silver again because of it though.”
“If you order the wood color one, it is not as depicted in picture where the wood is light and dark…very disappointing. It is very dark wood, so if that is not what you're looking for, don't get it. As far as the quality, I didn't bother putting it together since I'm not keeping it because of the color.”

“I'm very happy with this COSORI multi-cooker. The build quality is excellent, and the ceramic non-stick coating makes cleanup quick and effortless. It cooks food evenly and much faster than traditional cooking methods, which saves a lot of time. One of my favorite features is the variety of preset cooking programs. Whether I'm making rice, meat, soup, or vegetables, everything comes out great with very little effort. It's also easy to operate, even for someone who has never used an electric pressure cooker before, and it feels very safe during use. Overall, this is an excellent value for the price.”
“I should have opened and checked the inner pot and returned this, unused, while I still could have. The inner cooking pot is advertised as aluminum with a hard, ceramic, no stick coating on it. That sounded okay to me, but then when I opened the appliance up to look at the inside, I was taken aback by the glittering of tiny, tiny metallic particles embedded within entire inside cooking surface. Was this something I missed or something omitted? Scrolling through this page again, I noticed a section with the heading "Product Guides and Documents" under which the subheading "Safety Information (PDF)" appears.”

“I bought this scale to replace a smaller scale I've been using. I use a food scale every day to weigh my meals or for baking so there are certain features I look for in a food scale and this one checks nearly all the boxes. Since I'm just using it for personal purposes I didn't want to pay a a premium price. This one fit my budget. The features of this one far exceeded my old one in many ways. The surface is large enough to hold anything I need to weigh and can accommodate large glass mixing bowls I use to bake with without a problem where my old one would show an error for exceeding the maximum weight allowed.”

“This scale has some issues. Overall, it functions, and the one I received, at least, seems calibrated correctly on arrival, or at least as well-calibrated as I can determine with a 500g weight. The two major issues I noticed immediately are these: 1) The smaller scale reads negative when approached by certain types of plastic. Namely, the cover that goes over it causes it to read negative. If I had to guess, I would suggest that this probably has to do with static electricity buildup on the surface of this particular type of plastic and that any similar plastic will have this problem.”

“I do a lot of steak night dinners and weekend outdoor BBQs, and guessing whether chicken or thick cuts are done inside used to result in either dry meat or undercooked centers. I started using this digital food thermometer to take the guesswork out of dinner, it has made cooking much more stress-free. The speed is what stands out most. As soon as you swing the foldable metal probe open, it turns on automatically. Sticking the tip into a steak gives an accurate reading in about two or three seconds, I don't have to keep my hand hovering over a hot grill grate for long.”
“This meat thermometer is nice quality for the price. I really like that it automatically powers on when you flip out the probe, so there's no separate power button to mess with when you're cooking. The probe is also a good length, which will be useful for checking the temperature of larger cuts of meat like pork shoulders, turkeys, and roasts without having to get my hands too close to the hot food. Another nice touch is the temperature guide printed right on the thermometer. It gives you the recommended safe temperatures for different types of meat, which is handy when you don't have the temperatures memorized.”

“I waited until I used these a while before writing a review. First, I wasn't sure I wanted 8 food prep bowls. Just wanted 4 but liked these the best so went for it. I'm glad I got the 8 as I'veput them to good use. I love being organizedandthese make me happy. I've put them to good use. Second, these are very substantial glass dishes. I think you would have to be trying to break them in order to actually break it. Third, I wanted them to be stackable and not seeing a review that mentioned it I decided to go ahead and buy these. “I've never written a review for a product no matter how bad it turned out but this product is SO bad that I felt the need to warn others. I should have listened to some of the previous reviews and I regret that I did not. These containers break very easily. I broke two just getting them out of the box and putting them away! I have granite countertops and when I set the containers down two of them broke. You cannot stack them because they will stick together like glue. Learned that the hard way. The seal does not stay put, it comes off every single time I open the container.”

“I ordered two sets of the 4 pack/8cups 63oz & they are the perfect size for meal prep and for using for left overs. The glass feels high quality and is a thickness that is better than I've seen retail sold in stores. I wanted this because I don't want to worry about a cheap thin glass breaking when put in the sink & worry if other dishes are stacked on top of it. I don't think I will have any issues of breaking or chipping unless a major event/drop takes place. Which these are a great value. Lastly, the lid snaps on nicely and has a tight fit.”
“The size is great, the glass is thick and durable. They're not heavy but not lightweight either, good quality. The material of the lid is a sturdy plastic, my only reason for giving three stars is the snaps on the lids. They're honestly a very tight fit and more difficult to snap down than any other glass containers I have. That's not to say it's DIFFICULT to open or close them, but others that I have are the easiest quick snap and these just aren't. The snaps could've been made with a better material. I'm not sure why, but the toast is now evenly brown all over an dit browns quicker than before. ??? Maybe the elements needed to "burn in"? Whatever the problem was, it seems to be resolved now. Hooray! Our toaster bit the dust and we haven't had a toaster oven in years so we thought it was a clever idea to combine both and it is with one drawback (the bottom 1/2" -1" so of the toast doesn't brown due to the placement of the elements.”

A product with thousands of ratings but few written reviews tells you less than the star average suggests.
